The Government of Manitoba has established legislation that requires in-house security personnel to
meet the same licensing requirements as guards working for security companies.
These standards were introduced to enhance the safety for security personnel themselves and for the public.
The Commissionaires were closely involved in the original pilot project, and worked closely with the government
to develop a made-in Manitoba security guard training program that meets the provincial licensing requirements.
