The Commissionaires provide three services to help individuals and corporations to identify an individual
and determine if they have a criminal history. Commissionaires ID services are secure, friendly and reliable.
Your privacy is assured.
Police Clearance
Police Clearances (criminal record checks) are conducted by Commissionaires, in conjunction with the Charlottetown Police Department.
Whether you are an individual, employee, or volunteer, the Commissionaires’ services are friendly, reliable, and secure, ensuring your privacy.
Based on an applicant’s name and date of birth, a check is done against a central computerized system to determine
if a criminal background exists. The applicant, or a designate, will be mailed a Criminal Record Search Certificate within one week.
Note: People with common last names may not get the desired results should their name and date of birth match someone else within the system.
If this happens, you will be required to submit a fingerprint check as no two prints are alike.
If you feel this may be a possibility, in order to eliminate any delays, and reduce your overall expenses,
you should initially opt for a non-criminal digital fingerprint.
