Commissionaires Honoured with Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal

Winnipeg, 11 June 2012 - The Honourable Donald Neil Plett awarded The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal to two commissionaires who have shown service dedication and community commitment at Commissionaires Manitoba's annual general meeting. 

Recipient, CWO Brad Ball from Shilo, Manitoba has been with the Commissionaires Manitoba for 14 years. “It was a combination of emotions, I was surprised, honoured and it was very exciting!” said Ball after receiving his award. 

“I was very grateful for receiving it!” said Cpl Ross Colcomb from Winnipeg, Manitoba, the second commissionaire awarded the medal. Colcomb has been a member of Commissionaires for 10 years.

A new commemorative medal was created to mark the 2012 celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians (www.gg.ca/document).
